MASK EXPORT PERMIT
Due to the Covid-19 outbreak, demand for medical products such as surgical masks, N95 masks, protective overalls and gloves has recently increased. Many countries have brought some regulations to the sales and marketing of medical equipment due to the sudden increase in the need for such equipment. Turkey has banned a decision in this context that the mask sales have received the Ministry of Commerce, the export has been linked to a special permit.
Surgical masks, which are of great importance to protect from Covid-19 disease, are produced in large numbers in our country. As of today, there are 384 companies that have mask production license and are registered to the ministry. The Ready-to-Wear and Confessions Unions also supported the mobilization initiated as part of the fight against Covid-19 across the country, and the production of masks has exceeded millions on a daily basis.
Since the number of masks produced recently is more than the country´s need, approval has been made for mask export. However, the export of masks has been subject to permission under certain rules.
Pre-authorization is not required for cloth mask exports !!
Corona virus outbreak removing the mask with the spread of the export ban in Turkey. Trade Minister Ruhsar Pekcan shared a decision concerning manufacturers. Minister Pekcan said, "In this period when global demand is shrinking in the textile and ready-to-wear sector, pre-authorization will not be sought for the export of multi-use cloth (woven / knitted fabric) masks, and I wish this practice that will facilitate our exporters will be beneficial."
Delivery of Protective Masks and Coveralls, Exported to Pre-Permit, to the General Directorate of the State Supply Office
Official Gazette dated 04.03.2020 and numbered 31058 * with protective masks, overalls, protective gowns, medical and surgical mask exports, Turkey Pharmaceuticals and Medical Devices Agency permit is attached to the front. As of 19.04.2020, the General Directorate of State Supply Office (DMO) has been assigned in the supply and distribution of the mask and protective overalls health products needed by public institutions and organizations. In this context, within the framework of the contract to be signed with the DMO General Directorate and contractor companies that manufacture / supply Surgical Masks, FFP3 / FFP2 / N95 Masks and Protective products, the product information delivered to the DMO General Directorate is notified to TITCK by the DMO General Directorate, and the export permission will be granted.
* The number of products delivered to the DMO General Directorate and accepted by the contractor companies in accordance with the terms of the contract will be reported weekly by DMO to TITCK in writing, and the contractor firm will be granted export permission by TITCK based on the following table.
* The export permit given to the contractor firm can be used by the contractor or transferred to a third party.
What are the grant figures for mask exports?
In the functioning of the mask export system, export permission against grant is taken as basis. In this context, companies that want to export will be able to export in the specified amounts in return for the products they donate, provided that they fulfill their daily commitments.
