Ecological Packaging Certificate

Packaging is a material that protects the product in the cleanest and most reliable conditions and facilitates operations such as storage of products. The most important function of the packaging is to protect the products inside from physical effects such as wetting, impact, deterioration. At the same time, it provides ease of choice and use for consumers with information such as the name of the manufacturer, the content of the product, production date, expiry date and usage explanations. There are two important points in terms of packaging. The first is that it does not damage the product it is in direct contact with. The second important point is that when they are discarded, they can be quickly and easily destroyed or recycled in nature.

In our country, Packaging Waste Control Regulation prohibits the use of non-recyclable materials while producing packaging. It is very important that people are also conscious of this. Recently, materials called bioplastics are used for packaging. These are made from renewable raw materials. In sustainable packaging (recovery, reuse and material reduction) thermoplastic, starch, cellulose esters, chitosan, PEF (poly ethylene furanoate), PGA (polyglycolic acid), PLA (poly lactic acid), PHB (poly-3-hydroxy butyrate) Bioplastics such as PHV (poly hydroxy valerate), PHAs (poly-ß-hydroxy alkanoate) are used.

It is important not only for the product itself but also for its packaging that a product does not pose a danger to human health and takes care of the protection of nature. Manufacturer companies have obligations regarding packaging waste and must fulfill them.

Brands look at a wide variety of parameters to produce ecological packaging:

* Material usage: Minimized packaging, reducing product-packaging ratio, reducing volume
* Optimization of shipping throughout the entire life cycle: Optimizing the number of products and cubes, pallet and shipping designs
* Efficient (even renewable) energy use
* Optimum recycling of packaging with extra care for biodegradable materials

Packages are used in all steps from raw material supply to the final product, delivered to the producer, user and consumer, and the product is not damaged, impact, dampness, etc. These are non-returnable products that take part in the protection, storage and marketing against physical effects. The manufacturer, expiration date, product disclosure, usage prospectus, etc. on the packaging. information is included. The packaging product should be protected, should not cause negative effects on natural conditions, should be sterile, and should be safe and easy to distribute and store. The criteria specified in the Regulation on Control of Packaging Wastes should be appropriate.

Criterion 1: If it is not necessary to accommodate, support or protect the product for life, which is suitable for the description, is not an integral part of the product, it is accepted as packaging if all parts are not used together, consumed and disposed of. In this case, CD film, cake mat purchased with cake, tape roll, glass bottle containing injection solution, matchbox, refillable gas tube, sterile barrier system, etc. While the packaging is accepted, we can use the candle container, DVD box, mechanical hand grinder, sausage, etc. Membranes, pots, tea bags are not accepted.

Criterion 2: Disposable products used for filling at the time of sale are considered as packaging. In this case, paper is classified as plastic tora, aluminum foil, adhesive film, plate, glass packaging, while a mixer, fork, knife, baking paper bowl, cake mat (without cake), packaging paper are not classified as packaging.

Criterion 3: Packaging components, supporting, auxiliary and integral parts are considered as packaging parts. For this reason, parts that are directly attached or hung on the product are considered as packaging if they are not used, consumed and disposed of with the product. In this case, the label is defined as packaging, staples, plastic covers, dose measuring material forming part of the cover in detergent packaging, adhesive labels attached to the packaging, mascara brush forming part of the cover, etc. qualifies as part of the packaging. The radio frequency identification label is not considered as a package.

Ecological Packaging Certificate

Ecological packaging is a product that can be registered as a result of meeting and testing certain parameters and standards. There are also parameters such as minimizing dimensions, reducing the amount of energy consumed, product volume and packaging ratio in packaging design. The packaging must meet the criteria for the intended use and must not have a negative effect on contact with the product. The most important parameter is material ion. Businesses that will apply for an ecological packaging certificate for packaging to be used in the food, textile and cosmetic sectors must prove that the products in the packaging are also produced organically. International certification companies also check the packaging of the products they have registered and certified. Enterprises that produce within the framework of the standards can apply to authorized international certification companies for certification or to organizations authorized by these organizations in our country. Afterwards, an Ecological Packaging Certificate contract is signed between the certification company and the manufacturer. Sample products are delivered, the certification process is completed by analyzing the product and making a decision.
