Elevator CE Certificate

ELEVATOR CE CERTIFICATE

Elisha Graves OTIS first launched the safe elevator in 1953. One year after the first sale, at the New World Fair in New York in 1854, he cut the single rope holding the platform on which he was standing in the astonished glances of the people. Separating from the rope holding it through the ax, the platform fell only a few centimeters and stopped. Following the extraordinary show, orders for OTIS increased exponentially every year. In our age, the Elevator Regulation (95/16 / AT) has ensured that elevators are put on the market in a way that does not endanger the health and safety of the users. The aforementioned regulation includes the elevators and safety components used in buildings and constructions, elevators continuously used.

The Main Purpose of the Elevator CE Certificate Regulation;

* It is to fulfill all the safety-related conditions used for the transportation of goods or people and to ensure that all conditions are fulfilled before they are put on the market.

All elevators covered by the Elevator CE Certificate regulation must meet the minimum safety and health conditions. Otherwise, it is not possible for the elevators to be put on the market. It is mandatory to obtain CE Certificate in order to put your elevator products that you manufacture or sell to the market.Also, if you want to sell the elevator you produce to the market in EU countries, there is a CE Certificate. This regulation takes all precautions that ensure that the elevator is properly installed or used for its intended purpose and that the safety requirements are put on the market as a result of not posing a danger risk.

CE marking is a legal requirement for companies that manufacture or install elevators. Establishments that provide Installation, Maintenance and Revision services, by applying the technical file and ISO 9001: 2015 Quality Management Systems in their enterprises within the framework of the relevant standards, they have made electrical elevators (TS EN 81-20) (EN 81: 1 + A3) or hydraulic elevators (TS EN 81-20) (EN 81: 2 + A3) must have the Notified Body approved whether their assembly is in accordance with the relevant regulation. With the conformity approval of the notified body, they can make CE marking on the assemblies they make.

How should the CE conformity mark be affixed in elevators?

In the elevators whose installation is completed, besides the CE conformity mark;

* Identification number of the notified body that performed the final inspection in the B + F module,
* The notified body identification number that performs product quality assurance inspection in the B + E module,
* The notified body identification number that carries out manufacturing quality assurance inspection in the B + D module,
* The notified body identification number that performs unit verification in G module,
* The notified body identification number, which performs full quality assurance inspection, must be present in the H module.

Visibly affixed CE Mark reveals that elevators or safety components have met the basic safety and health requirements in the said regulation and that valid conformity assessment procedures are applied. The best method of assuming that these requirements have been met is to use harmonized standards published in the official journal of the European Union. Many of the standards established on behalf of elevators are established by the CEN Technical Committee. CEN TC 10 has developed special numbering systems and designed the standard families of elevators starting with EN 81.

Design process

* Annex V-B, Module B: Model elevators must be subject to EC Type Examination by Notified Bodies.
* Annex IX, Module H: The suitability of model elevators should be examined by the installation firms of the elevators and the quality assurance systems operated by the manufacturers should be approved by the Notified Bodies.
* Annex X, Module G: The designs of the elevators are subject to unit verification by the Notified Bodies (If the full quality assurance systems do not fully comply with the harmonized standards related to the designs of the elevators when applied in the design, they are subjected to design inspections by Notified Bodies and an "EC Design Examination Certificate" is submitted as a result of their compliance with the provisions of the regulation.

Assembly process

* Elevator installation companies choose one of the following alternative methods in order to check the conformity of the assembled elevators to the elevators whose designs have been inspected in the previous phase,
* Testing and final inspections of elevators by installers to carry out the products approved by the Approved Bodies under quality assurance systems. (Annex XII, module E)
* The tests and final inspections of the elevators are carried out by the elevator assembly companies under the quality assurance systems of the productions approved by the Notified Bodies. (Annex XIV, module D)
* Testing and final inspections of elevators by elevator assembly companies under quality assurance systems during the design process approved by the Notified Body. (Annex XIII, module H)
* It covers both the design and installation phases of elevators that have been subjected to unit verification by the Notified Bodies. (Annex X, module G)

Regardless of which of the conformity assessment methods is chosen, elevator installers must affix the CE Mark to all elevators and issue EC declaration of conformity. CE Markings are legibly attached to the cabins in an indelible manner on the plates on which the information of elevator installation companies, serial numbers, assembly year and type information are found.
